Eclectic Edo:
Variations in Paintings from the Edo Period (1603–1868)

December 3, 1999 – April 1, 2000

On view through April 1, 200 at The Clark Center for Japanese Art: "Eclectic Edo: Variations in Paintings from the Edo Period (1603–1868)." This exhibition highlights the multiplicity of Edo period art in the Clark Collection. Included among the featured artworks are paintings from the Maruyama-Shijô, Nagasaki, Nanga, and Sumiyoshi schools as well as Edo period Buddhist paintings and works by individualist artists such as Nagasawa Rôsetsu and Soga Shôhaku.

Gallery hours: Tuesday through Saturday 1 – 5 pm. Closed on national holidays and during the month of August.
Admission: $5 for adults, $3 for students with valid ID. Children 12 and under free.
Weekly docent tours are held Saturdays at 1 pm and guided group tours can be arranged by calling the Center in advance at (559) 582-4915.
